The son didn't shine on the Tea Party event in Colorado Springs on Thursday,8-25.
It rained. Hard! With nearby thunder and lightening.
The professional volunteers, 4 twenty-somethings from Arlington Virginia,
set up their 8 foot high inflatable gas pump, then quickly took it down.
It seems their "caravan" was actually a single SUV with the
inflatable talismans and boxes of hand-outs in the back.
About a hundred local supporters showed up; mostly 60 or 70 year old white
guy, with quite a few women included. There was one very active black
man in his forties, the twenty-something paid staffers, and lots of KVOR
employees and "talent". After several failed attempts to brave
the rain, the group retreated into the semi-abandoned mall at the site.
